one can pretend.

I have been itchin' to head east to the desert these days.
Since a vacation is not in the works for sometime.... I have invested in a few succulent plants to get me by.

Will this cut it? Prob not. But for now, it will have to do.

The Kaufmann House in Palm Springs.... dry and muted=dreamy.
Adding the rugged stone element with succulents is a great way to pretend you really are in the dry climate of the desert!
A small lovely something.
Here are my 3little gems.  They make me happy.  Simple and gorge.

{YELLOW} Mother's Day Brunch

Tomorrow I will be hosting a small Mother's Day brunch for my mom, sister, niece and grandma.
I will be (trying at least) keeping it minimal, easy and very fresh to compliment the 80 degree+ weather we are suppose to be having for Mother's Day.

I always back away from yellow as a focus for some reason.
Tomorrow I will be embracing it!
I picked up a 30+ piece vintage Mikasa set a year ago from a thrift store that will be the perfect foundation for brunch. I bet Grandma will enjoy the set as well!

"Entertaining with Craspedias" has been on my bucket list for a while now.
Keeping it super minial is key with this unique blossom.
Lemon-Blueberry pancakes. Enough said.
2 full bags of oranges from Trader Joes for FRESH-SQUEEZED OJ!
COFFEE!
To all of those Mommas out there
"Have a FABULOUS MOTHER'S DAY!"

Composition love.

As a prop and photo stylist, I look at the small details such as if a thread is exposing itself from a garment or there is a finger print on a glass element. However; one BIG detail a photo stylist (especially prop) is composition. Asymetical, symmetrical, abstract, grid, negative space are all descriptions that are thought of with composition. This is my favorite part of my job!

Anthropologie is always throwing us a curve ball with their displays. This had everyone wanting to break the next display barrier!

Jcrew Holiday Catalog in 2011 played with placement and direction that makes me get lost in this image. I LOVE IT!

I love an image that makes you stop and question exactly what is happening and what you are "suppose" to feel.  This shot from Lotta Atagon does just that.  I love the upside down bowls (which probably had to be a bit tilted to make it obvious what the item is).  The "cut on the dotted line" concept is genious!

a garnished cupcake

We had a fun little shoot today that involved an amazingly talented little girl, and these beauties.

Instead of paying about $4 per cupcake at a specialty bakery, I picked a box of 4 for $5! They were simply perfect.

With any basic item, I always have to accessorize!

Pop on a cupcake sleeve and a cherry for the top...... BAM! The perfect cupcake, perfectly garnished.... and I didnt even have to bake! ;)

The final product will be on www.zulily.com on Tuesday!

Up in the air, with love

After a birthday, and getting so much love from friends and family it's hard not to feel over the top with love and support.
Kinda makes me feel as though I jumped up and don't plan to hit the ground anytime soon!

Great accessories! Love that the red makes the eye focus on the subject and drags it all around.

With that sand, maybe I would want to hit the ground and tickle my toes

into the sand.

Adore the playfulness in this!

Fierce and beautiful.
